Celebrating Breast Cancer Survivors with Boudoir Photography

Celebrating Breast Cancer Survivors:
Rebekah’s Double Mastectomy Story

Rebekah’s double mastectomy story is one of the most impactful and emotional experiences I’ve had the honor of photographing.

Survivorship doesn’t end when treatment does. For many women, that’s when a new, quieter battle begins — learning how to see themselves again in a body that has been permanently changed. Rebekah’s journey is a powerful reminder that healing isn’t just physical. It’s emotional. It’s mental. And sometimes, it’s visual.

If something stands between you and your success, move it. Never be denied.

“As I sit here in the aftermath of the past year, I really struggle with my body image. There are days I cry and hide because I can’t stand to see the physical scars this left on me. But on those days, I am grateful I found TiffaneyAnn Photography. We did a before-and-after photoshoot that left me feeling powerful. She gave me so much strength to kick ass. Thank you for helping me feel like a beautiful woman.” — Rebekah

How Rebekah’s Story
Found Me

I met Rebekah through her sister — and from the moment I heard her story, I knew this was something bigger than a photoshoot.

Her sister reached out wanting to share Rebekah’s journey: the diagnosis, the fear, the strength, and the reality of facing breast cancer head-on. As she spoke, it immediately hit home for me. My grandmother went through breast cancer as well. I watched her endure chemotherapy, surgery, and the emotional toll that came with it. That kind of experience never leaves you.

So when Rebekah’s story came into my life, I didn’t hesitate. I knew I needed to photograph her. I knew her story deserved to be told — honestly, beautifully, and without apology.

A Before & After
Boudoir Experience

Rebekah chose to do something incredibly brave: a before-and-after boudoir session surrounding her double mastectomy.

The first set of images you’ll see captures the raw aftermath of surgery — scars, strength, vulnerability, and survival. These photographs are not about hiding what cancer took. They’re about honoring what it couldn’t take.

As you scroll further, you’ll see the “before” images — a celebration of her body prior to surgery. Together, these images tell a complete story of transition, loss, resilience, and empowerment.

This wasn’t about perfection.
This was about ownership.

Boudoir Photography
as Healing

For Rebekah, boudoir photography became a way to process her transition — to reclaim her body before and after cancer tried to define it for her.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she needed a double mastectomy. Like so many women, she faced fear, grief, and uncertainty about what her body would look like and how she would feel afterward. Choosing a boudoir session was her way of saying:

I am still here. I am still powerful. And this body is still mine.

That choice takes courage.

Why These Sessions Matter

Cancer doesn’t just change bodies — it changes how women see themselves. Scars, surgeries, and medical trauma can create a disconnect between who you were and who you are now. Boudoir photography helps bridge that gap.
